New DIR Speakers Mark & Daniel announce new DIR speakers with provisions for external electronic crossovers for the Mark & Daniel Diamond, Monitor, Aragorn and Apollo speakers. These new speakers will be built so that audio enthusiasts can build their own external crossover using components of their choice, or they can add a Mark & Daniel external crossover. The new DIR speakers without internal crossovers is perfect for those audio enthusiasts who wan to add digital Signal Processing to their audio chain. The DIR series speakers effectively remove the electronic crossover from the heat and vibration often found inside high performance speakers to the relative calm, cool air outside the speaker enclosures. This, in turn, will theoretically provide a more stable electronic signal to the speakers' drivers, resulting in a more clear and detailed audio image.

New Subwoofer Mark & Daniel announce new M&D Maximus sub-woofer. The new M&D sub-woofer features an 8" downward firing bass driver housed in a vertical enclosure that can double as a speaker stand, effectively disguising its true purpose. And because it can act as a speaker stand, audiophiles can now have stereo sub-woofers for either side of their system. The M&D sub-woofer can be used both actively (with its own built-in amplifier) and passively. It will cleanly reproduce frequencies down to 20 Hz.
